  • About

Staff from the South West Wales Cancer Centre are taking on the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k to celebrate the centre's 20th anniversary.  They are also being joined by colleagues from Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The South West Wales Cancer Centre is based at Singleton Hospital and treats patients from Bridgend to West Wales and up as far as Aberystwyth with lifesaving chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.  We raise vital funds for the all wards and departments within the Cancer Centre and also the Seaview Hostel.  The hostel is for patients receiving daily treatment and live too far away to travel every day so they can stay here and recover after treatment without the long journey home.  Money raised for the Cancer Centre is used for patient care and comfort, along with additional specialist equipment and training for our Doctors, nurses and all other health care staff.  We also invest charitable funds into groundbreaking research to allow us to deliver the best care and treatment to our patients.

Swansea Bay Health Charity is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board (registered charity number 1122805). We use charitable funds to improve patient care and staff wellbeing throughout the health board by providing equipment, staff training, funding research and completing special projects, which go above and beyond what the NHS is able to provide.

Our aim is to create a better experience and environment for all of our patients, staff and their families. Many of our charity supporters want to give back and show their appreciation for the Health Board where their experience of certain areas has gone over and above their expectations. With their donations, we can enhance areas of patient settings and improve the wellbeing of all staff who work for Swansea Bay University Health Board.
